There are a lot of backgammon players out there today who have playing non-competitively for years and are now seeing players just like them making it big on the pro tour.  Television channels are even starting to broadcast the big backgammon tournaments and celebrity games.  I was as shocked as anyone to see this happening, and I’ve definitely been sucked up in the excitement of backgammons new found popularity.

Now, if you’re equally excited but wondering how to get involved competitively, let me tell you, the answer is internet backgammon.  You don’t need to go out and spend a lot of money travelling around trying to qualify for the professional tournaments.  Most pros got their start online anyway.  That’s because internet backgammon brings together millions of people from all over the world, so when a backgammon tournament is offered online, you know you’re going to get to test yourself against more than just the people who could make the drive to the nearest casino.

If you’re serious about becoming a competitive player, then playing backgammon tournaments online is the absolute best way to get there.  Playing internet backgammon has really allowed me to not only improve, but see where I stand in the world of backgammon.  When I’m winning against other great players with impressive records or when I’m having success at backgammon tournaments online, then I know I’m where I want to be to become competitive on the pro circuit.  In fact, that’s exactly what I’ve started to do and my advice to you is prove yourself online and, once you do, you’ll be ready to take the pro world by storm.
